People want higher minimum wage, Gabby Giffords'
A group funded by former U. S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly has affirmed that the people of the state of New Hampshire are demanding an increase in minimum wages.
She also claimed that the move is being opposed by Republican congressional candidate Marilinda Garcia. The gun reform group focuses on the gun ownership legislation. It criticised Garcia not only on the issue of gun ownership but also on the minimum wage and equal pay for women. The group has sponsored a TV ad criticising the Republican congressional candidate in the state.
Giffords' group, Americans for Responsible Solutions said in the 30-second ad titled "Strange Ideas," that Garcia views are against a majority of New Hampshire residents.
The ad says, "Marilinda Garcia has some strange ideas. Most people in New Hampshire want to raise the minimum wage. Garcia opposes it. Most people support guaranteeing women get equal pay for equal work. Garcia's against that, too. Garcia even opposes closing the loophole that allows dangerous criminals to get a gun without a background check. Granite Staters deserve commonsense leadership, not Marilinda Garcia."
State representative Garcia is challenging incumbent U. S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster, a Democrat, for the 2nd Congressional District seat.
