Manchester police arrested a man and charged with felony reckless conduct after he fired a shotgun into the floor of his apartment, narrowly missing a little boy sleeping in the apartment below.
Police said Gilberto Santiago was arrested following a loud party complaint. He returned to his apartment and fired a shot into the floor at his Putnam Street apartment early Saturday morning.
The bullet narrowly missed the 2-year-old sleeping son of first-floor tenant, who had complained about the loud party. The victim family said they didn’t want to move, but they would do anything necessary to ensure their safety.
Officer Carissa Pelletier confirmed Santiago’s arrest and said he had admitted that he fired the shotgun into the floor.
Confirming the arrest and the man’s admittance, Pelletier said, “Mr. Santiago apparently was interviewed post-arrest and admitted to this entire incident.”
It is not the first time that Santiago is facing a legal action. Previously, he was convicted for criminal trespass and resisting arrest. In the latest case, he got bail at $7,000 cash or surety.
The offender is scheduled to return to court on 9th of December for a possible cause hearing.
