BAE Systems, British multinational that develops delivers and supports advanced defence, security and aerospace systems, has announced plans for creating up to 300 new manufacturing jobs in Nashua.
The London-headquartered multinational company will create the new jobs under a proposal designed to add four parcels to the already existing Spit Brook Road Economic Revitalization Zone.
Kim Cadorette, director of operations at BAE Systems, said that the company was in aphase of growth and it wanted to invest.
Revealing the growth plans, Cadorette said, “We are in a period of growth at BAE Systems where we will be expanding our manufacturing space at Spit Brook Road. We are looking to invest. We are growing, and we have manufacturing locations within those campuses now.”
The planned investment in the Gate City is expected to generate 200 to 300 new full-time jobs. Nashua officials hope that the new jobs will boost revitalization of local economy. The board’s president, Alderman Brian McCarthy, said he hoped hat the investment would fit perfectly into the goal of the revitalization zones.
Properties designated as economic revitalization zones allow national as well as multinational companies to apply for short-term tax credits through as an incentive to stimulate the local economy.
