Fear of climate change push Donald Trump to plan building a seawall on his golf course
US President candidate Donald Trump has openly said that he does not believe in the science of climate change, but its seem he fears the effects of climate change. It has been said so as he wants to protect one of his Irish gold courses from climate change effect.
Lately, the Trump International Hotel in Ireland has applied for a permit to build a seawall on its golf course to prevent soil erosion. It is being said that the application include an environmental-impact statement that reads that wall would be needed to combat ‘global warming and its effects.
The beach in front of 18th green is disappearing at a rate of around a year each year. The statement includes rising sea levels and increased storm frequency and wave energy associated with global warming.
In fact, an attached environmental impact statement reads that majority of the dunes in western Ireland are retreating owing to sea level rise and increased Atlantic storminess.
Though Trump has repeatedly called global warming a ‘hoax’ his environment-impact statement depends on facts about global warming presented by government scientists. The statement includes an Irish study, which states that erosion will continue at a steady rate through 2050.
“If the predictions of an increase in sea level rise as a result of global warming prove correct, however, it is likely that there will be a corresponding increase in coastal erosion rates not just in Doughmore Bay but around much of the coastline of Ireland”, reads the statement.
Trump has said that he would seek to renegotiate the global accord to cut climate-warming emissions agreed by President Barack Obama in December. Trump has said that the concept of global warming has been created by and for the Chinese to make US manufacturing non-competitive.
