Andrew Bogut is much feasible to miss the Olympic Games.
Golden State Warriors’ star player Andrew Bogut says he will need a wonder to overcome his knee injury and play in the Olympics. “I will not suit for the Boomers in Brazil” Bogut said. The veteran Australian striker is not keeping much hope within himself in their campaign to win their first ever gold medal at Rio.
Golden State Warriors’ medical staff said “Bogut must require six to eight weeks to get up from the left knee bone bruises suffered in a crash in Monday’s NBA Finals game five against the Cavs. “The chances are less. The team and my colleagues will not wait for my recovery. Hope my team will perform the best without me” Bogut added.
“I am not great at mathematics, but six to eight weeks is very unlikely at this point. We are going to re-evaluate in a month and if miracle happens, I can get back to the court. But as of now, it does not look good.” Bogut told reporters. Andrew Bogut said that he has heard his knee crack when Cavaliers guard JR Smith crashed into him. He then initially thought that his knee was broken. “It is not worth much, but it could have been worse than it is, but it is still pretty bad”.
The Australian Men’s National Team have never won medal in Olympics. But the squad had high expectations with the best players. The chief coach of the team Andrej Lemanis became much disappointed to have heard the news and said “I cannot think off a team without Bogut. He is our most crucial player. If he will not perform at Rio, our chances of winning will surely decrease”.
