N.H. vehicle chase ends in crash
A New Hampshire state police pursuit ended with the suspected drunk-driver crashing his car into a house, a spokesperson for the state police department confirmed.
The incident started at around 8 p.m. last Saturday, when a state trooper spotted a vehicle on Route 153 in Freedom that had previously been reported as erratic and a potential threat to public safety.
The officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspect refused to stop and accelerated the vehicle’s speed, leading to a high-speed police chase.
The high-speed pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a home near the intersection of Eaton Road and Glines Hill Road in Eaton. Police immediately tool the suspect into custody.
The suspect, who was identified as Jonathan Lord of Tamworth, suffered multiple minor injuries. State police took Lord into custody after he was cleared by the North Conway Ambulance Service.
Police charged the suspect with several counts, including driving while intoxicated, operating after suspension of license, criminal mischief, disobeying police and breach of bail.
