MIT Researchers Develops Algorithm That Enables Robots to Identify Objects Clear

Researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a new algorithm that could help household robots to identify objects clearly in messy environments.

MIT researchers believe that the robots should take advantage of their mobility and the relatively static environments in order to make objects recognition much easier.

Robots will do this by imaging objects from multiple perspectives before making judgments about their identity, said researchers. However, they said that matching up an object which is depicted in different images poses various challenges.

A new study conducted by Ben Weiss, professor of planetary sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and other researchers stated that Apollo astronauts had detected evidence that lunar rocks were once magnetized. The discovery by Apollo astronauts indicated that the moon once had active magnetic field.
