Toys R Us Shuts down Times Square Outlet

The luxurious toy superstore, Toys R Us, has shut down its flagship outlet at Times Square in New York City. The 21,000-square foot outlet saw its last customers on December 30, 2015. The store had an indoor Ferris wheel of 60 feet and an animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex of 20 feet. The outlet also stored a life-size Barbie dollhouse. The outlet had been operational for 14 years.

Several People Jam Packed Toys "R" Us in Times Square for Shopping As the Store

Several people rushed into the Toys "R" Us in Times Square for their last black Friday shopping at the store as it will not be renewing its lease after it runs out in January 2016.

Toys "R" Us, the iconic store, has been in Times Square since 2001. It is an American toy and juvenile-products retailer founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey.

CEO Dave Brandon, in an interview with CNNMoney, said it is certainly bittersweet, but the store has decided not to renew its lease. So, this is the last chance for buyers to shop at the iconic store.
