Moose seen Numerous Times near North Platte, Nebraska

Generally, moose are not found in Nebraska, but can be occasionally spotted in the western parts of the state. State authorities concerned have come to know about a moose being seen many times in the past few weeks near North Platte, Nebraska.

The repeated sightings have led the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to believe that the moose came into the state from Wyoming. Now, wildlife watchers have been asked to maintain a distance from the animal.

New Hampshire Department of Safety to announce new rules related to Naloxone acc

New rules and training will be announced by New Hampshire Department of Safety officials in an attempt to permit more law enforcement personnel to administer life-saving doses of Narcan in people who overindulge in heroin and other opioids.

On Thursday, the new rules will be announced by officials. The use of Naloxone has been examined by a task force. Naloxone is usually known by its trademark Narcan. At present, only EMTs can administer Narcan under state law.

The high school students who competed in this weekend's FIRST Robotics Competition at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) said that they got scramble to get their robots built in time as snow days put them behind.

They were given six weeks for the construction of the robots but the time came during the worst of the winter weather.

Dan Coburn, 17, a senior competing with a team from Manchester High School Central, said, “The hardest part was time. Out of the six weeks we probably had a week of snow days so that knocked us down”.

Union employees of FairPoint Communications agree to end four-month strike

Union employees of FairPoint Communications have agreed to end a four-month strike. Over 1,700 union employees will get back to work on Friday.

Following three days of voting in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, an agreement was reached, according to the company officials. It’s a 3½-year agreement and will take effect from Sunday.

Peter McLaughlin, chairman of the union bargaining committee and business manager of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2327 in Maine, said that their members fought for over four months and showed unity and commitment.

Travelers remained stranded for several hours as southbound traffic in Concord on Interstate 93 was backed up for several miles following a pileup near the Interstate 89 junction forced authorities to close the highway in both directions.

New Hampshire's newly adopted Text-to-911 system could mean the difference between life and death, Bruce Cheney, the director of the N. H. Division of Emergency Services & Communications said.

Announced by Gov. Maggie Hassan, the new system allows users to seek help/support in an emergency when they mayn't be able to use voice to call police.

Speaking about the texting system, Cheney said, "Text-to-911 allows residents in dangerous situations who are unable to risk the noise of a call to send a text for help."
