NH voters beware: ‘ballot selfies’ are illegal

New Hampshire voters who cast votes for their favorite candidates on Tuesday should think twice before sharing the images of their marked ballots via social media as a new state new prohibits such action.

Approved in June 2014, the new law prohibits voters from capturing digital images or photos of their marked ballots and sharing them through social-networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Violation of the so-called 'ballot selfies' law attracts a fine of $1000.

In the polls prior to the Election Day, Corbett had been trailing consistently. Despite his repeated firmness "we don't invest in lost causes," Christie placed a massive bet on Corbett. Despite his hard efforts accompanied by healthily-funded campaign to avoid becoming the state's first governor to fail to win re-election since 1968, Wolf defeated him easily.

The ACLU of New Hampshire on Friday filed a lawsuit against the state, challenged its new law that prohibits voters from capturing and showing 'ballot selfies'.

Many voters in the past captured photos of their ballots and posted them on social media sites like Facebook. The controversial law, passed by New Hampshire earlier this year, purposely prohibits voters from posting selfies after voting.

A New Hampshire man convicted of killing a college student and raping her on Friday pleaded guilty to an additional charge of plotting to escape from prison ahead of his trial.

Seth Mazzaglia, 32, murdered 19-year-old University of New Hampshire student Elizabeth Marriott on October 9, 2012 after she rejected his sexual advances.

Marriott was allegedly lured to Mazzaglia's apartment as a sex offering by his then-girlfriend, Kathryn McDonough, who later became the main witness in the case.

Incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen on Wednesday released a new paid web ad, in which she apparently blames her Republican opponent Scott Brown for the growing problem of outsourcing.

The ad features New Hampshire residents who lost their jobs as companies outsourced their work to overseas. A couple, Ed and Ginger Cunningham, says they were working for Lucent Technologies until the company in North Andover, Massachusetts, closed its doors and outsourced all jobs.

Three men arrested in connection with Keene pumpkin festival riots

Police in Keene, New Hampshire, have taken three people into custody for their allegedly involvement in the pumpkin festival riots that occurred near the Keene State College campus earlier this month.

Police confirmed that 18-year-old Forest M. Wilkinson of Spofford, New Hampshire; 19-year-old Michael Bulman of Scituate, Mass.; and 18-year-old Tory Knaff of Groton, Conn. were arrested. The three men were identified in pictures from the pumpkin festival released by police.
