N.H. man arrested for driving under influence, producing methamphetamine

A New Hampshire man was detained and charged with driving under the influence after he almost hit a pedestrian while driving erratically to a hospital, a spokesperson for the Claremont Police Department confirmed.

Police spokesperson said the department received a medical emergency call in the area of School Street just after 11:00 a.m. yesterday. Another call was received from a man requesting help shortly after, but contact with the second caller was lost.

Medicaid expansion, which is made possible through the federal government’s health care overhaul law, aims to subsidize health care for individuals making up to 138 per cent of the federal poverty line, or those who earn less than $16,000 per annum.

An industrial accident inside a New Hampshire warehouse Thursday morning left a worker with multiple injuries, authorities confirmed.

The accident occurred inside Crane Security Technologies warehouse, which is located at Cellu Drive in Nashua, New Hampshire, at around 9:15 a.m. yesterday.

Initial reports suggested that the accident was caused by an explosion inside the warehouse but Deputy Fire Chief Glen MacDonald later claimed that no chemicals were involved in the incident.

The program will end this year if lawmakers fail to pass the reauthorization bill. Following a debate earlier this week over the proposal to include a work requirement for recipients, the Senate is set to vote on the program's continuation on Thursday.

Falling tree kills New Hampshire volunteer firefighter

A volunteer firefighter lost his life when high winds caused a tree to fall onto his pickup truck in Weare, New Hampshire, authorities confirmed.

Police said the victim, whose name was not disclosed, was driving south on Route 114 at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday this week when his truck was struck by the collapsing tree.

The 32-year man was a volunteer firefighter with the Lyndeborough Fire Department. He served the fire department for around eight years. Lyndeborough fire officials said it was a "tragic" day.

The properties to be sold include thirty thousand acres of land linked with hydro facilities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont; in addition to three storage-only reservoirs.
