About 32 international students have been selected in the 2015 Caltech Space Challenge. The students are divided into two teams and have been asked to design a mission where astronauts would land on an asteroid in order to mine for resources and to show how the raw materials might be used.

Trip to hospital for stomach pain turns into surprise delivery for 23-year-old

A Massachusetts woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl without knowing that she was pregnant. The 23-year-old Katherine Kropas told USA Today that she experienced sharp pains in her stomach which felt like she was 'Getting Stabbed' in Lower Back. Kropas went to South Shore Hospital's emergency.

She underwent a day of blood tests at hospital that indicated that she was about five weeks pregnant. Only one hour later, Katherine delivered a healthy baby girl weighing 10 pounds and two ounces.

A Massachusetts couple has sued supermarket chain Whole Foods as well as Rain Crow Ranch, alleging that the two entities are responsible for the death of their 8-year-old son.

In a lawsuit filed last Tuesday in U. S. District Court in Boston, Melissa and Andrew Kaye of Braintree alleged that their son died after eating ground beef produced and processed by Missouri-based Rain Crow Ranch and sold to them by Whole Foods Market.

A new report from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health released on Friday claimed Massachusetts adolescents conceive babies at memorable low rates, only 12 in 1,000 mothers being aged 15.

The 2013 Massachusetts Birth Report found that Hispanics, the youngster birth-rate for people age 15 to 19 was 11 births every 1,000 ladies, down from 13 every 1,000 in 2012. This is basically lower than the rate of 35.3 every 1,000 in 1990.

Shoppers at a toy store in eastern Massachusetts received an early Christmas present as their layaway bills totaling $20,000 have been paid off by an unidentified woman.

Workers at the "Toys R Us" store in Bellingham, around forty miles southwest of Boston, told reporters that the anonymous woman paid off all 150 of layaway accounts at the store on Wednesday this week.

Mass. man wins Philadelphia Marathon; qualifies for 2016 U.S. Olympic trials

A Massachusetts man on Sunday finished the Philadelphia Marathon fast enough to qualify for the 2016 U. S. Olympic trials.

Dan Vassallo, a 29-year-old resident of Peabody, finished the Philadelphia Marathon in 2:17:28, within the limit of 2:18 that was set for competitors to qualify for the next Olympic trials.

Previously, Vassallo had won the Philadelphia Marathon in 2010. His winning time in yesterday's marathon was more than four minutes faster than his time consumption of 2:21:36 in 2010. This year, Vassallo beat the 2013-winner Abebe Mekuriya by seven seconds.
