Members of the New Hampshire Republican Committee recently chose Jeanie Forrester, a former state senator, as their next state party chairperson.

Forrester was among the top critics of the policies of Maggie Hassan, former state governor who is now a senator. Last year, the conservative leader unsuccessfully challenged Republican Gov. Chris Sununu in the primary election.

Even the cold and icy weather conditions of in the Granite State have failed to stop volunteers like Tom Howe from finding and documenting big trees.

A New Hampshire state police pursuit ended with the suspected drunk-driver crashing his car into a house, a spokesperson for the state police department confirmed.

The incident started at around 8 p.m. last Saturday, when a state trooper spotted a vehicle on Route 153 in Freedom that had previously been reported as erratic and a potential threat to public safety.

The officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspect refused to stop and accelerated the vehicle’s speed, leading to a high-speed police chase.

A sexual assault bill being considered by New Hampshire lawmakers has been designed to prevent wrongful convictions, but opponents have warned that it would unduly protect sexual predators and pedophiles.

The controversial bill would require victims of sexual assault to substantiate their testimony in case the defendant has no prior related conviction. The state's existing law does not require victims to substantiate their testimonies.

Dead body found outside burning car in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Police Department has confirmed that a dead body was found outside a burning vehicle in Stark in the morning hours of Monday.

In a newly released statement, sate police officials said that a local resident was the first person to come across the burning car on Millbrook Road at around 8:45 a. m. and call 911. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the car was in flames and the body was outside it.

New Hampshire House Speaker Shawn Jasper was quick to offer a scolding after a lawmaker's loaded gun fell onto the floor during a public hearing on the merits of full-day kindergarten.

Rep. Carolyn Halstead, a Republican from Milford, lost control of her handgun and it fell onto the floor. The loaded firearm reportedly came out of her waistband while she was taking off her backpack before taking a seat during an Education Committee meeting.

Bow High student maps graves at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery

A senior student at Bow High School has mapped graves at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, making it much easier for people to find the graves of their near & dear ones.

When Elin Warwick found out that people were having a difficult time in locating their loved ones’ graves, she used a geographic information program from Esri, marked the location of each and every grave and uploaded it to a computer installed in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery’s welcome center.
