No voter fraud occurred in New Hampshire: Trump’s former aide says

There was no voter fraud in New Hampshire that Donald Trump alleged prevented him from winning the popular vote in the state during the 2016 election, a former aide of the president admitted.

Corey Lewandowski, a former campaign manager for President Trump, said in an interview that he did not see evidence of any kind of voter fraud during last year’s election in the Granite State.

When asked about the alleged voter fraud, Lewandowski said, “I live on the border. I didn’t see buses coming across the line to say that, hey, we’ve moved up from Massachusetts.”

N.H. lawmakers kill ‘right-to-work’ bill

In spite of aggressive lobbying efforts by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, New Hampshire failed to become the so-called “right-to-work” state as lawmakers voted 200 to 177 to the kill the measure.

The union-targeting legislation was supported by Gov. Sununu but many fellow Republicans voted against it, arguing that it would weaken unions and hurt workers. The Republican-led state Senate had passed the measure last month.

New Hampshire legislators are mulling a package of bills that would make voting more difficult for military personnel, college students and other adults living temporarily in the Granite State.

Republicans have introduced nearly ten bills, which propose to tighten residency requirements, demand additional documentation, and even impose fees on some voters.

One of the bills would require people to be in state for at least 210 days a year in order to vote. The measure would let concerned authorities to demand leases, bank statements or vehicle registrations for proof.

Results of the 2016 election showed that the Democratic Party needs to go in a different, more progressive direction, New Hampshire Senate Minority Leader Jeff Woodburn said.

The N.H. Democratic Party won all four seats in the Congressional delegation, but local election races presented a far more gloomy result for the party. Democrats lost control of the governor’s office for the first time in the last twelve years.
