New Hampshire’s ‘ballot selfies’ law challenged in court

The ACLU of New Hampshire on Friday filed a lawsuit against the state, challenged its new law that prohibits voters from capturing and showing 'ballot selfies'.

Many voters in the past captured photos of their ballots and posted them on social media sites like Facebook. The controversial law, passed by New Hampshire earlier this year, purposely prohibits voters from posting selfies after voting.

Incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen on Wednesday released a new paid web ad, in which she apparently blames her Republican opponent Scott Brown for the growing problem of outsourcing.

The ad features New Hampshire residents who lost their jobs as companies outsourced their work to overseas. A couple, Ed and Ginger Cunningham, says they were working for Lucent Technologies until the company in North Andover, Massachusetts, closed its doors and outsourced all jobs.

U. S. Senator Kelly Ayotte participated in recently held roundtable talks with stakeholders from the outdoor, forestry & conservation community of New Hampshire to discuss the economic benefit of preserving the state's natural resources and safeguarding outdoor recreational lands.

During the event, hosted by Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, Ayotte strongly supported the Land & Water Conservation Fund as well as the Forest Legacy Program.

Former first lady and possible 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is planning to visit the state of New Hampshire next month.

Clinton will be in the state to campaign for U. S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Governor Maggie Hassan. Clinton is also planning to campaign for Democratic candidates in Kentucky and Iowa ahead of the mid-term elections on 4 November, 2014. Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said that she is working to help Democrats win in order to protect her core Democratic values.

Shaheen, Brown in close race for New Hampshire Senate

A recent poll has shown that Senetor Jeanne Shaheen, D-New Hampshire, and Republican challenger, Scott Brown are very close in the race for the position. According to political analysts, the outcome could be a close call.

The poll has shown that the both are tied for the Granite State's Senate race. In a survey released on Thursday by New England College (NEC), Shaheen received 47.1 percent and Brown received 46.6 percent votes indicating that the outcome cannot be predicted. The difference is within the poll's 2.69 percent margin of error.
